I counseled with Larry Cross for 4 months- some individual and some marriage counseling. During that 4-month period, and from the beginning, Larry picked up quickly on who I was and what I needed. He told me things about myself that I hadn't realized, however, upon reflection, I began to see what he saw. Going to therapy isn't always fun, and it isn't always easy. No one wants to face the problems they've been hiding for months, possibly years. Often it is extremely difficult facing them and expressing them out loud for another person to hear. But at some point in therapy, if you find the right therapist, you realize how important it is to dig up these feelings.

It took me several therapists to find one I feel comfortable around. After a few sessions, Larry and I were able to discuss things I had never been able to say out loud before. Once I got past the discomfort, I gained so much insight on how to be more aware of and comfortable with my own feelings. And when he tells you, you need to actually hear him. You need to listen because he is basing his words and guidance on decades of experience in the field. If you are open and honest with yourself and him, he will guide you to the true issue and help you understand. He will remind you to remain empathetic to yourself while maintaining your accountability. My marriage and my family have all benefited enormously from my sessions with him.
