They won't cancel my dad's service after he died. Horrible experience. How can you enforce a contract like this? When we are selling the house and don't need the service. 3 yr contract is a scam when operating this way. Do not use.

I recently had the pleasure of working with Brennan Wighton of SST, at The Resort Master, Club on 6th, and I can't say enough good things about his service! I called today to activate an SST system that is already installed in a home that we are renting but I was told that they only offer a 3 year minimum commitment for new customers. I explained that we rent and do not have the ability to know for certain if we will be in this home for 3 years and the customer service person told me that their company president has put his foot down and there are no exceptions. Very odd business model for a smaller player in the home security business.

I had SST setup my AV and security in our house back in 2020. We had everything setup on the TVs, surround sound, security cameras, etc. They were great then. I have since had network issues affecting everything in our house including wifi extenders, routers, streaming and my home office connectivity. I have now been down for 2 weeks and they will not return my multiple calls and emails. I got a hold of a customer service rep last week who said he would elevate it to urgent and get me on the schedule... still NO calls. I am now looking for a new company to take over and I will be switching my monitoring service to someone more reliable and who understands that I have a home office and the network is critical to my ability to work. Too bad because I really liked this company a couple years ago.

A hefty 40USD/Month cost for a minimum 3 year contract means 40*12*3 = 1,440 USD just to try the service out. That's bananas when their competitors are offers way lower rates for more features (with 30-day trial periods!). Furthermore SST refuses to provide these rates anywhere other than over the phone, maybe they are afraid it will make them look silly? Why are you being so shady SST?

Was billed twice on something they should have asked more questions about before a tech was dispatched. We purchased a receiver and we contacted the company that did the wiring during the build to install it. They sent a tech put but apparently we didn't have an additional selector in addition to the receiver. The system didn't work after he left and the receiver became hot and would go into shut down. We since bought the part and had them come out again and they charged us the same amount again. We happily paid the first bill and have no issues financially paying the invoice, its the principle behind it. This is unfair and almost criminal in my eyes.

Responsiveness, professionalism and no how are the descriptors that come to mind when I think about the SST teams, on the sales side, the audiovisual side and the security side. First of all, they sell and implement an excellent product which is well integrated and user-friendly. They support that product with a sense of excellence and responsiveness. As a customer, I have always felt a priority by both Jimmy and Roger which is reflected by the SST teams. I highly recommend a product and SST as the integrator. Michael Carter
